SDP Looking for Performers

CALLING ALL DANCERS!!! Are you ready to join the hardest-working dance family in New Orleans?!?!? As we head into our 2015-2016 Season, we are looking for YOU to join us in all of the adventures next season will bring! Here is some of the information you might want to know to get excited about joining us next season!!!: REHEARSALS (starting in September!!!): Wednesday nights from 7pm-10pm; Saturdays afternoons from 3pm-6pm. PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES: At least one Company Performance in Spring 2016, Participation in the Loyola Ballet Fall & Spring Concerts in November and April, (anticipated) Participation in Dance Festivals such as Fringe Fest, Southern Voices, and other regional festivals, and if it's anything like this year, possible participation in fundraising events, showcases, awards shows, musical theater productions, and much, much more! This year, our director, Leigh M. Brockman Horowitz, was nominated - and accepted! - a membership with the International Dance Council (UNESCO), and that opens many doors, both nationally and internationally, to participate in dance festivals!!! We look forward to exploring those opportunities THIS SEASON!!! EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES: We work hard to spread the love of dance to area companies, studios and dance students. This year, we held a workshop at Loyola University during Spring semester, and anticipate doing so again next Spring, we held classes in the Fall at our home studio, The Studio School of Dance in Metairie, and we will hold a summer workshop for a studio in Morgan City this summer!!! TAPINGS: SDP is a HUGE believer in the power of the Internet as a tool to get our works out there to a greater audience (plus, we need good quality tapings of our works for those dance festivals)! We generally create 1-2 choreographies for tapings per year! If you haven't seen our creations from this year yet, CHECK THEM OUT!!!
