Marigny Opera Ballet Announces Auditions for 2016/2017 Season
The Marigny Opera Ballet, completing its successful second season, will hold open auditions for male and female dancers at the Marigny Opera House onSaturday May 14th, 2016, at 1:00pm. Callbacks will follow directly, from 2:30pm-3:30pm. Dancers must arrive no later than 12:45pm, with headshot and resumé. The Company will consider dancers with a professional level of ballet, modern and contemporary techniques.
The Marigny Opera Ballet will be filling positions for its third performance season - fromSeptember 6, 2016 through April 16, 2017. All Company rehearsals and performances are paid. Any questions about the auditions should be directed to info@marignyoperahouse.org.
About the Marigny Opera Ballet The Marigny Opera Ballet was founded in June 2014 by Co-Directors Dave Hurlbert and Spencer Doyle. The Company’s inaugural season (2014/2015) included three programs of premieres, accompanied by live, acoustic music. Program One was singled out by New Orleans’ Gambit Weekly with an award. The Company’s second season (2015/2016) has included the world premiere of “Orfeo,” an original full-length ballet by Maya Taylor with music composed by Tucker Fuller, as well as three additional programs of original work and live music.
The Marigny Opera Ballet directors include Dave Hurlbert and Spencer Doyle (Company Directors), Maya Taylor (Rehearsal Director), Francis Scully (Music Director), and Leah Farrelly and Shawn Ramagos (Technical Directors).
